Heavenly King Vacation Bible School
We are excited to announce that in March 2025, we will make available for purchase a curriculum program for Byzantine Vacation Bible School! The theme for our program is the Holy Spirit. What our program includes:
- 5 Days of Activities: Fire of Love, Hand of God: Sealing and Anointing Us, Wind and Cloud, Water, and Dove. Generally, we expect these activities to fill an entire morning. Also, this program has been tested both as activities done within a family setting, and in a parish. In the parish setting we had one group of children rather than several groups. And the children were from ages 5-11.
- Gathering Together: plans for an assembly with scripted dialogue for the beginning of each day
- Saints in the Spirit: An option for talking about the saints and how they allowed the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit to flourish in their lives
- Active in Faith: Plans for physical activity to get the children moving while learning about God
- Holy Spirit, Divine Artist: A craft or art activity to work on that day’s theme
- Fruits of the Spirit: A guide to talking about the fruits of the Spirit during snack time, with suggested snacks to offer if your program includes providing snacks.
- Catechism Convos: Short for Catechism Conversations, this part of the day includes reading the Bible and talking about what the children have been learning throughout the day. There are related catechism questions the children can work towards memorizing. (We recommend at minimum the children learn the answer to “Who is the Holy Spirit?” And we also include optional Bible Memory Work or copywork pages.
- Printables: The Heavenly King VBS program comes with a printable pack which includes posters for decorating, colouring pages and stencils for Holy Spirit, Divine Artist time, and certificates to give to the children at the end of the week.
