July in The Byzantine Life

There are a lot of great feasts to celebrate in July! Our Lady of Perpetual Help, The Robe of Our Lady, Prophet Elijah, and the Dormition of St. Anna will definitely be highlights.

The summer is going to go by quickly, I am sure. It always does. So I plan to use July to start preparing for the new year. That is, September 1st, the Church’s new year. We have had colds for the last week an a half of June (who knew summer colds could last so long!). And I am really feeling the difference a third child makes! So many of our schedules and routines have been interrupted by baby life. And now it is time for me to accept that things of changed and just work on a new rule of life for our family. (Rather than what I have been doing, bandaid solutions while trying to get back to the way things were).

So here are my plans to use July as a month to reset and plan for the new year

  1. Have a declutter and organizing week
  2. Go through my own home management course and come up with new meal plans, schedules, etcetera.
  3. Work with the kids to prepare for a new homeschool year – getting school supplies, discussing new subjects and expectations
  4. Ask for help when I need it
